Securing Construction Receivables Since 1986
A nationwide network of construction attorneys and local filing providers, built to protect the payment rights of contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Our Story
National Lien & Bond was founded in 1986 with a single purpose: to help the people who build America get paid. Construction is one of the largest industries in the country, yet contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers routinely face delayed or withheld payments. State mechanic lien laws exist to protect these parties, but the laws vary dramatically across all 50 states, each with its own notice requirements, filing deadlines, and enforcement procedures.
We built a nationwide network of construction attorneys and local notice providers who know their state's specific rules. When you work with National Lien & Bond, you get one point of contact backed by the knowledge and enforcement capability of the entire network. We handle preliminary notices, mechanic lien filings, payment bond claims, Miller Act claims, and construction debt collection in every jurisdiction.
Why an Attorney Network
Online lien filing software uses generic templates and cannot review whether your claim is legally defensible. A lien that is procedurally defective, served late, or filed against the wrong property interest is worthless. Our network gives you local attorneys who practice construction law in your state, on-the-ground providers who handle proper service and recording, and the ability to escalate to enforcement and litigation when a debtor does not pay.
Every state has different lien statutes, deadlines, notice formats, and county-level filing requirements. Illinois requires a 90-day Section 24 notice. Florida has a strict Notice to Owner requirement. California demands a 20-day preliminary notice. Texas requires two separate notices before a lien can be filed. Software cannot account for these differences with the precision that a local attorney can.
